Lathmaar holi , Barsana

Holi festival (festivals of colors) is one of the most beautiful festival celebrated all over India with Gulaal (powdered colors) . In the city of Uttar pradesh which is the birth place of Shree Krishna ( the god on whose name this festival is celebrated) holi celebrations starts a week prior to the actual holi day. This photograph is from barsana , uttar pradesh & here people are celebrating a different kind of holi name as lathmaar holi , in which the men teases the women in the town & the women beats them (friendly) on the shield they carry.

We were just going to move out of the place when I found this lady perfectly standing with the light coming through a window , which made it a great frame to capture.
